Well, the bad news is that the Netflix Commercial did not make the cut. The good news is that we’ve moved on to the next project. Check out our submission for the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer commercial for their October funding drive.
Keep those fingers crossed.

I discovered poptent.net late last week. They collaborate with brands and allow filmmakers to submit commercials in ad campaign competitions. That’s the most succinct way I can describe them. But visit their site for more information.
So I looked through the current competitions and saw the deadline fast approaching for Netflix. I quickly put together a rag tag idea and with the help of good crew members, I put this together and uploaded it.
Will write more about poptent as I discover more.
Enjoy.

The song below is one of my favorite tracks from Tim Harwill. It’s a catchy tune. You may find out more about yourself than the songwriter himself from this one.
Enjoy the music. Replay it. Come back and play it again.

Tim Harwill is a singer of Country Music, from Alberta, Canada. He is a solo artist and is currently on tour, singing at pubs, clubs and coffee joints across Canada. He was passing through Toronto and stopped by for a chat.
We will post some of the conversations in the coming days. For now, Here is a song called “On These Roads” from a new album he is working on.
(Director’s Note: There is some experimentation going on in this little film. We’re playing with the angles and the colors, and trying to learn a bit as we do it too. Also, the Sennheiser Lav, which I bought cause everybody says its so bloody fantastic, constantly kept picking up frequency static, although all the cell phones were off, to the best of my knowledge. Also, since I don’t have a sound proof studio, if you have really good speakers, you might hear police sirens outside your window)

Stormm Bradshaw is an actor. He has dreadlocks. He is also black. Sometimes, in the superficial world of the entertainment industry that we’re all part of, it can be quite a challenge to land a role that defies easy stereotypes. In the video below, Stormm talks about those challenges.
Enjoy!!
Stormm Bradshaw has screen credits for movies like Exit Wounds, Don’t Say A Word and You Are Here, among other works for both screen and television.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I present to you, The Canadian Mafia, or La Cosa Nostra del nord.
Enjoy the video. (On YouTube, this video may not be available in Germany at the moment because of a copyright issue with YouTube. I’m disputing it right now, cause I paid for the damn royalty free rights to the music)
I hope you like the above video. The sound is a problem, but that’s because I screwed up the sound. I’m still learning, what else can I say. I had to end up using the on camera sound to save the film.

This is another instalment from the interview with Michael. If you are an artist, struggling to make it, you will find strength in Michael’s explanation of success.
Since Michael explains everything better than I can, I’m just going to stop writing and let you watch the video.
Enjoy!!!
